Fall is in the air and it is time for the Brushy Mountain Apple Festival.  Held the first Saturday in October.  This is a must attend festival showcasing the products of the local orchards and well as many vendors and artist from the area and abroad.  Start your Christmas shopping here.

There are numerous cabin getaways, bed and breakfast, campgrounds and motels for your stay.  Some offer seclusion so that you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Wilkes County.

Enjoy, boating, sking, swimming, mountain biking, camping, fishing and picnics at W. Kerr Scott Reservoir.  You can bike on several miles of bike and walking trails on protected lands on the Yadkin River Greenway, Stone Mountain State Park and the Reservoir.

Wilkes County also offers some of the best festivals in the area such as the Brushy Mountain Apple Festival and Merle Fest.  Along with these festivals Wilkes offers some great entertainment with musical and theatrical talents at the Walker Center.

Wilkes County is also enjoying the growth of wineries and vineyards in our county.  Elkin Creek Vineyard, Grassy Creek Winery,  and Raffaldini are in Wilkes.
